The SFV-CSOA is a part of the California Softball Official Association. Our purpose is to provide an educational and instructional program that will make it possible to officiate California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) softball games with efficiency and competency.

President's Message:
To All Softball Umpires,
Greetings and welcome to the 2025 high school softball season! It is time to try on your uniforms and check your gear so you can be ready to officiate our first games in February. Will you be ready to take the field?
Last season brought us many challenges on and of the field and I want to thank all of our umpires for rising to the task. You were all professional and handled your games and playoffs with the skill you have been asked to display on and off the field. The Board congratulates all umpires who were selected to work playoff games, you all did a job well done.
Regarding meetings, we take place Monday evenings. The CSOA, our parent association, is requiring all umpires to be certified before the beginning of the season and to attend the Mandatory CSOA clinic. Our first meeting will be in December. All unit meeting dates will been posted on the SFV website and emailed by Louis Quevedo. We are required to complete both the study guide and the certification exam prior to the first games of the 2025 season.
The location and time of the meetings is TBA.
All of our meetings will be in person this year. We will be one of the very best trained units in California. Please come to the meetings on time and ready to learn a new rule and/or mechanic. The unit clinic will be on a Saturday and is also a required meeting that counts towards certification. Lunch will be provided. If you miss this clinic, you will have to attend two make up meetings that counts towards certification.
We are actively recruiting new umpires! Please bring a fellow umpire or someone interested to any of our meetings. Please contact Louie and Kirk if you have any leads. On the subject of board meetings, I do encourage members to attend our meetings as they are open to all members!
